Ferdinand Victor Eugène Delacroix (1798–1863). French Romantic artist regarded from the outset of his career as the leader of the French Romantic school. His use of expressive brushstrokes and his study of the optical effects of colour profoundly shaped the work of the Impressionists, while his passion for the exotic inspired the artists of the Symbolist movement. Monsieur & Madame Monet. My favourite artist after da Vinci. Birds totally freak me out so this picture is quite unsettling. It reminds me of the man who feeds the pigeons at the end of the tram tracks on Elizabeth St in Melbourne, Australia. As soon as he appears there, the sky literally goes black momentarily with all the pigeons who come to be fed by him.
