Deep in Far West Texas, Big Bend National Park. Covering more than 800,000 acres, Big Bend National Park is larger than Rhode Island. The park has more than 200 miles (322 kilometers) of hiking trails and some 450 bird species. The giant park is home to some prickly permanent residents. More species of cactus are found in Big Bend; some 70 species, more than at any other national park in the country.
