Thomas Mellon (b. 1813, d. 1908), patriarch of the Mellon Family. A 1st generation Irish migrant to the United States at age 5, he was the 1st Mellon to go to college, becoming an attorney-at-law and later a county judge in Pennsylvania. With his income, he dabbled in investments and eventually co-founded what is now The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation or BNY Mellon.

William Wrigley, Jr. (1861-1932)  American chewing gum industrialist, founder & eponym of the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Co. in 1891. Wrigley played an instrumental role in the development of Catalina Island, off the shore of California. He bought a controlling interest in the Santa Catalina Island Co. in 1919 & with the company received the island. He left his fortune to daughter Dorothy Wrigley Offield & son Philip K. Wrigley. The son continued to run the company businesses for the next 45 years
