Found in a field by a farmer in Tamil Nadu South India and weighing over 12kgs and nearly 1/2 meter or 17 inches in length, this specimen is one of the largest aquamarine crystals in the world. The deep greenish blue color is considered to be top for aquamarine. This piece belongs in a museum or with the ultimate collector.

Beryl (zoned aquamarine) with Schorl he majority of this big crystal is deep gemmy blue-green with sharp glassylike prism faces. There are many bright black prisms of schorl protruding. The top zone has a distinct phantom and changes to a white cap that includes a layer of schorl inside the upper part of the termination.
