Ye Olde Mitre A pub of no little history, built in 1546 and extended in 1782. Henry VIII was married in St.Ethelredas next door and his daughter, Queen Elizabeth, is said to have danced around the cherry tree at our door with Sir Christopher Hatton.

Rich in history, Ye Olde Mitre Tavern in the City once housed a cherry tree that Queen Elizabeth I is said to have danced around, while her father, King Henry VIII was married next door.
