Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were iconic dance partners who became a box office sensation in the 1930s and 40s. Their first film was "Flying Down to Rio." They made a total of 10 movies together (9 with RKO Radio Pictures and "The Barkleys of Broadway" with MGM, which was their only color movie). Their biggest box office hit was the classic "Top Hat" released in 1935. It was inducted into the National Film Registry in 1990. "Swing Time" (1938) was also inducted, in 2004.
