Winter wonderland

Winter was so cold that waterfalls froze. Photo of the frozen Njupeskär waterfall, in Sweden. Niagara Falls in The USA and Canada has frozen many times over the years too. Amazing to see.

Northern lights, Abisko national park From Kiruna, the Abisko national park is only an hour further into the Arctic Circle by rail. There is a fantastic hostel, the Abisko Mountain Station, and in winter you can book a night at the Aurora Sky Station on top of Kungsleden, watching for the northern lights.
