Evening dress, France, ca. 1864. Two pieces (bodice and skirt) of ivory silk taffeta with chenille fringe on bodice, waist, and back of skirt; embroidered flowers, leaves, and abstract shapes on skirt.
Dinner Dress: ca. 1860, American, silk taffeta patterned with warp printed flowers.
This will be Betsy's first dress.
Silk dress with day and evening bodices. Design woven into fabric, not dyed. Date provided is c.1855-60, but appears as though it might be toward the end of the given range, or even a few years thereafter. Might be from the transition from the "old" to "new" corset styles.
