Shoebill (Balaeniceps rex) -- such a singular bird.  Looks like a cartoon character, sometimes like a flying dinosaur, and from this view, his bulk reminds me of Batman with his cape.  I'm in awe that this creature exists and I'm only just now learning it. Height varies from 3.5 to 5 feet.  Bill is about 12" long, 5" wide and resembles the Dutch wooden shoe  -- thus the name Shoebill. by 42203050@N00, via Flickr
