Detroit Mariners Church: In the 1976 ballad "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald," Canadian troubadour Gordon Lightfoot describes how the rector of Detroit Mariners' Church tolled the bell for each life lost n Lake Superior after the sinking of the Great Lakes freighter. Anchored between the Renaissance Center and Hart Plaza, the limestone church holds services in the Anglican tradition.
