The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls- Reading this now. It is a fantastic memoir. She paints magical pictures of a childhood of neglect and the journey to a better life. It's inspiring, really, and I haven't even finished it yet. (recommended by Jenni)
"29 gorgeous coffee table books" We think it would be great fun for a kid to have lots of coffee table books to look through. We particularly like those that show travel, photography, art, nature, and science but anything that a child would find stimulating would be great!
