A silver and gilt-copper elephant automaton clock, Augsburg, circa 1630 and later, the bell contained within an arcade surmounted by a crenellated section containing dancers who revolve with the strike, all mounted on the back of a well modelled elephant, the eyes formerly oscillating with the escapement, the howdah blanket decorated with foliate scrolls and tassels; on a carved giltwood base.
