Gorgeous iris color-Haven't seen this one before--'Drama Queen'-- TB iris, early to midseason bloom, dark rich cyclamen-purple standards with buff falls veined and edged with same, Dykes Medal 2011

Rio Rojo | Tall Bearded I love this silky red self , but it did not do well in my zone 3 garden. It is a derivative of Purple Serenade and has undertones of sparkling claret. Lavishly formed flowers are handsomely ruffled and hold their glossy color without fading--features not common in red Iris. Excellent plant vitality means each stem produces 8-10 buds per stalk. Rio Rojo is a new achievement in color, flower form and plant vigor in the red Iris class.

Rio Rojo

RIO ROJO This silky red self is a Purple Serenade derivative. That explains the undertones of sparkling claret as shown in our photo. Also note how the lavishly formed flowers are.

The Rio RoJo Iris! A Beautiful Flower from one of my favorite Sellers. I have two of these in my garden this year and can't wait for them to bloom!

Iris possess a gentle fragrance complementing their graceful beauty. Some Iris, though, remind us especially sweet treats and fruity flavors. Sample these five for starters!

'Ocelot' (Joseph Ghio, R. 1997). Seedling 93-2Q. TB, height 36" (91 cm). Early to midseason bloom. Standards peach; falls maroon with blackish sheen; beards tangerine. 'Chinese New Year' X 'Romantic Evening'. Bay View 1998. Honorable Mention 2000; Award of Merit 2002. JC2015

This outstanding bicolor has been quickly recognized. Ocelot's pale peach standards are ruffled and arched. Bright tangerine beards create a startling contrast to the blackish maroon of the heavily ruffled.
