“the death of James Lee Byars”. in 1994 in Brussels and in Venice, then, in 1996 the performance “666″, These were “perfect deaths”… as was “the play of death”, Byars did in 1977 and “the pefect death”, done in the Museum of fine arts in Philadelphia 1984… In this performance a Tibetan monk blows a horn while Byars paces a large circle and disappears. In japanese “enso” the ecircle is regarded as a symbol of perfected spirit. It stands for the fullness of nothingness, for emptiness…
