Glass mosaic

Nakamura’s Optical Glass House is composed of roughly 6000 glass blocks strung together by stainless steel. Soundproof the façade cancel out external noise while allowing light and air to pass through and revealing only a mosaic of the lush garden inside.

"Optical House" (2012) | Hiroshima • Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP. "The flat bar is seated within the 50mm-thick glass block to render it invisible, and thus a uniform 6mm sealing joint between the glass blocks was achieved. The result?—a transparent façade when seen from either the garden or the street. The façade appears like a waterfall flowing downward, scattering light and filling the air with freshness." NAP

MODERN LOVE

Something very much like the design of the upcoming house. I love the use of a glass wall as a complete side of the building and just the colour of the frameworks amongst the fading timber cladding and lengthy grass.
