Sleek, elegant Japanese design: Created by designer Yukio Hashimoto. The pieces are hand crafted using the traditional Japanese craft technique of "wappa" or wood bending. Wooden boards are bent in hot water, creating beautiful curves
Simply turned mortar and pestle with a single band of three incised lines on the bowl and a single incised line on the base. The light windsor green paint is original to the piece as is the pestle. There are no condition issues with the mortar. This mortar and pestle was found in an old Maine collection and dates to 1830-1840.
