If you floated down a river, where would you end up?
In this lesson, students develop a model of the earth’s surface and use it to discover an important principle about how rivers work.
This is an erosion experiment done comparing which type of natural erosion occurs the quickest: rain, glacier melting, or wind. This would be a great activity that could be done in class when talking about natural types of erosion. The students could postulate which they think would work the fastest, do the experiment, and write up their results which we could talk about as class.
