Part 4 of 5: Deadlines Do you ever plan to stitch something for a birthday or a holiday and find yourself completely stressed out about it? When I’m faced with an unrealistic deadline, it ruins cross stitch for me. Here’s two ways to keep deadlines from ruining cross stitch for you: 1. Don’t have deadlines. Just avoid them. 2. Stretch out the deadline, if you can. Your cross stitch hobby should be relaxing and make you happy.

Part 3 of 5: Perfectionism This is a big problem for me just about every day. I’m that typical Type-A personality that gets overwhelmed really fast when things aren’t “perfect”. Getting everything just right can really set you back when it comes to cross stitch. I used to find myself wasting time frogging every little mistake, when I could probably have moved passed it and save hours. We are going to have to learn to accept the imperfect. My mantra is "Done is Better Than Perfect"

Part 2 of 5: Guilt I know for sure that if I did everything society said I was supposed to do, I would need another 2 days a week! That’s a lot for any one! When you do something for yourself, you feel “selfish”. So it might be time to get okay with letting it go a little bit here and there. Let the clean clothes sit in tumble dry until after you’ve had time for yourself. Or recruit the kids (if you have them) in the household chores. This helped me a lot when I was a single Mom.
