The motivational reminder for my husband

My husband has had a lot of problems due to his rather lacking ability of sticking to something because it’s not fun. How often do we notice this about ourselves? How something we find dreary usually lasts for about two weeks (if even that) before we make the thousands of various excuses to never do it again. Against our better judgement of course, knowing there are reasons why we’re supposed to do this dreary thing and how it’ll benefit us in the long run as long as we keep up with it. My…

The Blue Fluted Mega Heart

In the mid-1700s Germany a porcelain painter made what will be later called the “blue fluted”. It never really hit off much in Germany, but in Denmark it’s one of the most loved porcelainsets you can get. Royal Copenhagen has the copyright of their pattern, Bing & Grøndahl made their own version as well. The pattern itself later traveled to Norway in the mid-1800s and are called “Bogstad Straw”. With various subtle alterations of course.

Geometric Mandala No. 1 – a modern cross stitch

So, I was watching True Blood. And admittingly I will probably never be able to open with that particular explanation again, but I’m enjoying it while I can. And I’ve seen parts of the tv-series before, but it was rather sporadic and I didn’t always understand all the different referances to past events and such. Decided it was time I filled in the gaps.

I made alterations to my own sampler pattern in order to create a personal wedding sampler in vibrant and beautiful autumn colours. We Get Married, Wool Thread, Thing 1, Cross Stitch Embroidery, Bohemian Rug, Deer, Wedding Planning, Vibrant, Textiles

My wedding sampler with the deer

My thread is from a 1-ply wool thread which I dyed myself using Dylon textile dyle. The original colour was mustard yellow which I dipped into Flamingo pink and Jeans Blue to get the red-like and the green variations. I often get questions regarding this thread, and I’m sorry to say it can’t be bought anywhere.
