Tree Branch from the Battlefield at Shiloh, Tennessee. The Battle of Shiloh, also known as the Battle of Pittsburg Landing, on April 6–7, 1862, was one of the Civil War’s bloodiest battles. This tree branch, with what appears to be two pieces of lead case-shot from an artillery shell, was recovered from the battlefield and demonstrates the intensity of the fighting that occurred there.
