Imago Mundi - ERYRI by Melanie Williams
Melanie is a self-taught artist who has lived in North Wales since her childhood and now lives in Bala. Melanie has developed a great interest in colour, texture and patterns and her medium of choice is now encaustic wax, using sharp tools to create unique work. Encaustic means to burn in, a form of painting used by the ancient Greeks to decorate their boats and the Egyptians to embellish mummies. I am challenging myself to give the viewer an opportunity to feel the links to bygone times…
