Hine’s modern subjects
A large part of Lewis Hine's photographic focus was dedicated to being a witness to and voice for the voiceless. It would be easy to view the Hine exhibit with a sense of satisfied finality about horrific labor conditions and human rights violations, but as described by Renán Salgado, Human Trafficking Specialist with the Worker Justice Center of New York, the fight for labor justice in the United States is far from finished.
