Was so sleepy this morning THAT I woke up at noon; I found a piece of scrap paper so I googled some inspiration (the wonderful Victoria Held of course) and decided to see how I can incorporate gold into painted pieces. I did calligraph the side but it wasn't very visible so I cropped that out. I like how the bird reminds me of ornate China pieces.

I liked this illuminated letter because it showed how to use water colors. I also liked this example because it shows a common theme and color palette used consistently through the entire drawing.
