My teacher uses a Noise Meter similar to this one. The Noise Meter is a cool way to remind students the correct noise level that they should be using! You just use the paper clip and move it to the appropriate noise level the students should be using.
Nick Cholewa I thought this was a funny poster that could be put in a classroom. I know with the younger ages, a lot of the kids enjoy tattling on the other kids, so this may help to put that to a minimum.
Lots of people today need to really THINK before they speak. Too many people have forgotten how to be kind and speak with respect. The saddest part for me is that children are watching and learning how to imitate the same behavior.
Classroom Procedures- Talking Signal: I will indicate how much (or how little!) students are allowed to talk during class. They can check the Talking Signal during different activities to see what the noise level should be.
Chatter tracker--I like this as a reminder to students about the voice level to have during specific times of the day. I wouldn't use this exact phrasing, and I would actually make a stop light to "light up" as a reference for the kids.
Students nameswill be added to the board when they are “caught being good” At the end of each week, the students who are on the board will be entered in a drawing for a reward. Their name is entered as many times as it is on the board.
