The Haus am Horn was built for the Weimar Bauhaus's exhibition of July through September 1923. It was designed by Georg Muche, a painter and a teacher at the Bauhaus.:

Arstist: Marianne Brandt. 1924. Silver & ebondy; lid of sugar bowl glass. Tray: 13 X 20 1/4". Bauhaus-Archiv Berlin. I chose this set because I love to host family and friends at home. This functional set is also quite striking and sculptural in it's form and design. The handles are covered with ebony, creating a heat barrier for the hand. Silver conducts heat well, keeping the contents of the pots hot for serving.
