In the last chapter of the book of Revelation,Jesus calls himself the "bright morning star". In ancient times the morning star was thought of as a herald of the new day and a sign of hope and joy. This description is so fitting to Jesus Christ who is the one from whom all darkness flees.
When Jesus predicted the temple's destruction ,which had taken 46 years to build and was destroyed by the Romans 40 years later .Jesus was demanding a new way of worship not the religious one,but the one based on relationship. In the new covenant Jesus is presented as the cornerstone to which we are joined as living stones .Together we form a spiritual house in which God can dwell. As a foundation stone on which God is building his kingdom,Jesus is strong enough to hold everything together…
Christianity's earliest confession of faith consisted of three short but powerful words:Jesus is Lord. People who love him and who oppose him will one day call Jesus "Lord".In the end even the devil will be forced to acknowledge him .
Jesus was born in Bethlehem ,which means "house of bread".Without bread no one would have survived so long in ancient days ,and because Jesus knew that bread is one of life's necessities therfore he instructed his disciples to ask for their daily bread in what has become known as the Lord's prayer.Once we decide to follow him he creates in us hunger for him only to show us that he alone can really satisfy.
