When Jesus predicted the temple's destruction ,which had taken 46 years to build and was destroyed by the Romans 40 years later .Jesus was demanding a new way of worship not the religious one,but the one based on relationship. Throughout the Bible ,the lion appears as a symbol of might and power. When it comes to using this image to describe God ,It seems so fitting and in harmony with his majesty and power.Jesus is presented to be both the Lion and the Lamb.In his mercy he is The Lamb to those who accept God and as a Lion he stands in judgment on all who oppose God. “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”Revelation…

Jesus was born in Bethlehem ,which means "house of bread".Without bread no one would have survived so long in ancient days ,and because Jesus knew that bread is one of life's necessities therfore he instructed his disciples to ask for their daily bread in what has become known as the Lord's prayer.Once we decide to follow him he creates in us hunger for him only to show us that he alone can really satisfy.

A child was always at the heart of the biblical covenant .Already in the garden of Eden God promised that Eve's oppspring would crush the head of the serpent. The new covenant tells the fulfillment of that promise . Most children don't have money or power, they often lack wisdom and they aren't afraid to ask for help;therefore Jesus said to his disciples that only if they had a childlike trust and obedience they would enter into his kingdom.

Redemption involves winning back or buying back something that belongs to you or to someone else.Jesus offered himself as redemption when he died on the cross .Rather than liberating his people from political oppression as many expected the Messiah to do,Jesus came to free his people from the demonic powers to which they were enslaved because of sin and his blood was the price he had to pay to break the power of sin and death from his people .

This name is linked to the God of the Hebrew Scriptures because it means "Yahweh is salvation". No wonder Jesus liked to hang out around sinners because it was to them he did leave his throne in heaven and embraced the cross.
