Wattle and Daub
Wattle-and-daub wall...The cob is monolithic, so tends to be quite thick (a one-story wall usually starts at over a foot thick and gets thinner as you go up). The wattle-and-daub wall can be much thinner (3 or 4" thick) because the clay is supported by the lattice work. This beautiful detail lets you see the inner workings of the wall structure.

wattle and daub - As Yeats said, I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree, And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made; Nine bean-rows will I have there, a hive for the honey-bee, And live alone in the bee-loud glade.
