The Elgin & Winter Garden Theatres are a pair of stacked theatres in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The Winter Garden Theatre is seven stories above the Elgin & are the last surviving Edwardian stacked theatres in the world. Originally built as the centrepiece of Marcus Loew's theatre chain in 1913 & designed by architect Thomas W. Lamb, who also built the Ed Mirvish Theatre. The ornate Loew's Yonge Street Theatre had plays & vaudeville.The Winter Garden(upper)was decorated to resemble a forest.
