Katherine Mansfield: "The man in the room next to mine has got the same complaint as I. When I wake in the night I hear him turning. And then he coughs. And I cough. And after a silence I cough. And he coughs again. This goes on for a long time. Until I feel we are like two roosters calling to each other at a false dawn. From far-away hidden farms." Her Notebooks

Now, the Alexander Turnbull Library has six boxes of documents - many never seen publicly before - telling the story behind Katherine Mansfield. Correspondence with literary giants, family photographs, her passport, and a letter telling a princess to back off from her husband are included in the boxes which once belonged to her husband, John Middleton Murry.
