Shell Cottage

[Source] Bill and Fleur's cottage stood alone on a cliff overlooking the sea, its walls embedded with shells and whitewashed... Wherever Harry went inside the tiny cottage or its garden, he could hear the constant ebb and flow of the sea, like the breathing of some great, slumbering creature. He spent much of the next few days making excuses to escape the crowded cottage, craving the cliff-top view of open sky and wide, empty sea, and the feel of cold, salty wind on his face.Description of…

Pirate's Cove, Polperro, Cornwall. Smuggling prospered in Polperro when it was developed as a port in the 12th c. & reached it's zenith in the late 18th c. when Britain's wars w/ America & France hastened high taxation of imported goods. Local fisherman boosted their income by smuggling spirits, tobacco & other goods from Guernsey. A more organized Coast Guard service was introduced in the 19th c. along w/ stiff penalties, & led to much less smuggling.

The Rumps Point - Cornwall [Explore]

This is my second shot from a recent trip to The Rumps on the north coast of Cornwall. Just before the sun vanished behind a cloud bank, the lighting conditions came good and allowed enough time to frame two compositions - a landscape and portrait format. Which is your favourite? Thanks for looking. Mk www.markgeorgephotography.co.uk Facebook Page
