Late 14th century/ early 15th century Gold ring, the bezel in the form of a spur with a twelve-pointed revolving rowel, the hoop decorated with scrollwork and niello and terminating in dragon's heads at the shoulders. This ring is part of a collection of 'Veneto-Byzantine' jewellery found in 1840 in the Castle of Chalcis on the Greek island of Euboea (known as Negroponte by the Venetians).
