Growing up, we celebrated St. Nicholas day on Dec. 6th. At night, there would be a loud knock at the front door. When we opened it, there would be a bag of Christmas candy and small gifts. It was the biggest treat because I didn't know anybody else at school who got a visit from St. Nick on 12-6!
