ANTIQUE ACCENT

This porcelain oyster plate was produced in France by Charles Ahrenfeldt Limoges in the late 19th century. It has a diameter of 8 3/4 inches. The plate has five wells for oysters or clams and a small center well for salt. There is factory transfer decoration of sea creatures and seaweed in colorful array. Gilding outlines each segment of the plate and there is rich gilding on the rim. There is slight wear to the rim, but probably 99% of the gilding is intact. This plate is in excellent…

This is a beautiful Haviland Limoges oyster plate, with markings that date it to between 1888-1896. It is dotted with sweet little pink roses. 5 wells for oysters then a sauce well in the middle. Very collectible and in nearly perfect condition with no scratches, crazing, chips or repairs. There may be a tiny amount of wear to the gold accents. It measures 8-1/4" in diameter. I originally had 4 of these magnificent turn of the last century Limoges collectable oyster plates. This is the last one. They were manufactured in France in 1900. Marked on the back GDA standing for Gerard, Dufraisseix and Abbot, the successors to Theodore Haviland. It has a burgundy rim ringed with gold and the wells are decorated with pink and burgundy roses and light blue forget me nots. I truly cannot describe how beautiful they are.
