George V postbox (CA11 43) near Hartsop, Patterdale, Lake District National Park, Cumbria, UK

This 'Type B' wall box, evidently first installed during the 1910-36 reign of George V, stands beside Hartsop's bus stop on the main road across the Kirkstone Pass. The tiny village has no shop or pub to act as an obvious hub; this is as urban as it gets! As such, the middle of the hamlet is an ill-defined point, but it's ~350 m from here, up a single-track lane. That's Hartsop Dodd (618 m) in the background.
