The Thirsk Mead Hall or Thirsk is a massive mead hall located on the eastern coast of Lake Fjalding, which is situated on the Felsaad Coast of Solstheim, Morrowind. This was a VR project I worked on, done for University. This environment is a Viking mead hall made to give off a realistic vibe and be as period accurate as possible. This is not intended to be a Fantasy type setting. This was made with a team made up of me and 3 other people, over the course of 17 weeks. My duty for this project involved prop and environment art, as well as some additional tasks on sound design and the mountain vista.

First, a little history... In ancient Scandinavia and Germanic Europe a mead hall or feasting hall was simply a large building with a single room. From the 5th century to early medieval time such a building was the residence of a lord and his men with the mead hall generally being the great hall
