Taken from Newnham Hill near Daventry looking towards Badby. At 186 mtrs is one of the highest view points in South Northamptonshire UK. Typical of middle England farming country. My first visit up here after locating it on an OS map. The fields of rapeseed, wheat and poppies were only just coming into flower. I need to come back again to catch all the colour. The many shades of green in an Irish countryside speak to me of Spring. The sea is visible in the distance as your gaze takes you past the gently rolling hills…a quintessential scene of pastoral beauty. Behind me on a high hill sits an ancient Irish Passage Tomb holding the secrets of the early people who made their homes in this beautiful land.

The owners of a distinctive house designed by David Chipperfield have embarked on a project to re-wild the landscape around their Chilterns home, embedding the award-winning building in its stunning surroundings.
