A feral dog native to Australia. It’s believed it descended from ancestors living with native Australians.

Everyone has heard of a dingo - but have you ever laid eyes on a cute baby dingo? Ever knew exactly what a dingo was? Well - it's basically a dog! Which means when it's a baby, a dingo is basically an adorable wild puppy! That's right, dingoes are wild, or feral - undomesticated Australian

The Dingo - The sole foreign domesticated mammal adopted in Australia was the dog, which arrrived from Asia (Austronian canoes) around 1500 BCE and established itself in the wild in Australia to becomes the dingo. Natives, as Polynesians did not use dingos for food, instead kept them as companions/watchdogs.

A dingo is like a wild dog from a faraway adventure! It's got a sandy or golden-colored fur coat that helps it blend into the wild lands it lives in. Dingoes have pointy ears that can swivel around to listen for all sorts of exciting sounds. They're super smart and fast, like real-life superheroes! Dingoes love to run and play with their dingo friends, and they're amazing hunters too. But even though they're wild, I think they must be really cool creatures, and I hope I get to see one…

It is protecting, and not killing, dingoes that enables their pack structure to remain intact, to limit their own reproduction for the sake of sustainability, and thus to reduce stock losses and protect wider biodiversity by providing a natural "balance of nature". Believed to have been pets at one stage in their evolution, the origins of the Australian dingo are shrouded in mystery, compelling generations of biologists to snoop for clues about their early history. New evidence has recently been revealed by a genomic study that offers tantalizing details about their adaptation from domesticated to wild animals.
