Hello everyone! I can't believe it is November already. November used to be my least favorite month as it seemed a bit dreary after all the bright colors of October and before the sparkling white snows of December. However, now I find a certain satisfaction in getting the garden bedded down for winter and thoughts of decorating the house for the Christmas season start dancing through my head. Time seems to go by so quickly now I want to enjoy the peace and beauty of each and everyday. Even though the days are short there is a coziness to being tucked inside a warm cozy house. So, now I welcome these sweet November days as I snuggle in for the coming winter. I have stocked up on tea so I can relax by the fire. So much to be thankful for on these sweet November days. It is a damp grey day here today but we still have more leaves clinging to the trees then usual for this time of the year. I am hoping to do a few fall shoots yet before focusing on Christmas/winter. Happy Sweet November! Carolyn

You Can Never Go Wrong with Taupe
Don't confuse taupe with its cousin greige. The two may have a lot in common, but they're actually very much their own hue. Taupe will seem a bit warmer in some cases, skewing somewhere between brown and gray. Greige, on the other hand, can be slightly cooler and sits on the gray-beige spectrum (it's all coming together now, right?). They're both fan favorites for walls, trim, cabinets, and more—especially where a little cottage charm is needed. Here are a few of our favorite spaces that call on this warm and cozy neutral, plus the best taupe paint colors to help you get the look. Just remember, how a paint color looks in your space is totally subjective to the surface, light, and more. Pick up a few paint samples in the colors you're considering, and swipe them on a small part of the area you'll be painting. Check back on the samples throughout the day as the light shifts throughout the space. Still not quite right? Keep trying until you hit the right note.
