Identify the unhelpful distortion, blow the balloon to the size of the problem it brings, write the distortion on the tied balloon, and then pop the fixed mindset away! Try cognitive reframing by taking unused balloons and writing more helpful words on each balloon, such as “trying,” “sometimes,” or “yet.” Stretch the unused balloon to teach flexible thinking and discuss the benefits.
