Yep! I just found out that instead of using water and soil, you can actually also root a fruit tree using air layering. What this basically means is that you allow the branch to grow roots, whilst it's still attached to the parent tree. I don't know if you have already seen the earlier posts

Air Layering is one of the easiest, most carefree and effective method of propagating a rose. A technique i learned from my father as a young boy, when he would use this form of propagation on tropical fruit trees and plants.
