The Johannesburg Central Business District (CBD) as seen from the observation deck of the Carlton Centre. At 50 storeys high, this skyscraper has been Africa's tallest building since 1973. Like the CBD, it has seen better days but is now attracting more visitors.

Diagonally across Diagonal Street from the diamond building in the last shot is the "KwaZulu Muti Museum of Man and Science" which isn't a museum at all but a shop crammed from floor to ceiling with products used in "Muti" which is a type of witchcraft. Selling everything you could possibly need for traditional medicine and magic, it's a really interesting and very friendly place to visit

Met this little fella at Blyde River Canyon in South Africa. Found out later he's a Sekukhune flat lizard and actually quite rare; this species of lizard is only found in a small area #lovesouthafrica

A few hours drive from Johannesburg in eastern Mpumalanga, the Drakensburg escarpment is a justifiably popular place to visit. It was the first stop on my road trip and after staying in Graskop I went to the most famous of the many viewpoints along the edge of the valley - 'God's Window'.
