Day 24:And it’s Christmas Eve – and the end of the Beer Advent Calendar already.Still have loads of Christmas beers to get through though. The homebrew is bubbling away nicely in the cellar by the way.Today’s tasks were basically to catch up on beer diary posts and clear up.With that done, we’re off for Christmas dinner with friends – Happy Christmas, Readers! The Beer:Underlig Jul from Nøgne Ø of Grimstad, Norway. An excellent one for Christmas Eve – lovely rich flavour.
Day 21:Monday again.Am in Christmas mode now, so slept in until 1030.That was a little unexpected, to be honest…Then it was time for some shoppingWith that done, back home for one of the beers I picked up.The Beer:Schneeweisse from Erdinger Weissbrau of Erding, Germany. You can’t really go wrong with an Erdinger hefeweizen, and this Christmas edition is no exception – lovely.
Day 10:More work to start the day.Made it to the gym for my 50 lengths in the pool. Then did a beer run and came up trumps.Back to finish the project and make dinner.Took the best of Monday’s tasting beers again tonight – I was right…The Beer:Vellagret Juleøl from Aass of Drammen, Norway.A superb Christmas beer from Norway’s oldest brewery.
Day 14:Another week starts with a bit of a low-energy Monday.Got some stuff done though, just at a slower pace. This being December, it’s probably the calm before the storm…Did make it to the gym for a swim.Grabbed a few extra beers on the way home, including this one.The Beer:Julemanden’s Trøst from Brouwerij Sterkens of Meer, Belgium. There’s a lot going on in this one, a real taste explosion. An excellent way to keep warm this winter.
Day 9:Despite last night’s excesses, woke up feeling fine.Did have a bit of a lie-in though, which was welcome.Finished the first translation job on time.A new one came in so got going on that one too.Spent the afternoon on web design for the new site before clocking off.The Beer:Hvit Jul from Nøgne Ø of Grimstad, Norway. So, not all Christmas beers have to be black as night – this is a nice and spicy weiss…
Day 2:Started off with working on the blog.Took a break to go beer hunting and scored big.Back to the desk and finished my St. Petersburg article.Made dinner and drove Rebecca to athletics.Opened the second “window” of the Beer Advent Calendar. The Beer:Juleøl from Reins Kloster of Rissa, Norway.Even better than yesterday’s – this is a classic (albeit organic) Christmas ale.
