Day 15:Hmm, not a huge improvement in my ‘arbeidslyst’ today either.Mind you, did get an interesting press trip offer.Nothing confirmed and it will mean changing plans in January. But if it comes through it would be a great start to 2016.Too full at the gym to swim but had a lengthy sauna. The Beer:St. Niklaus from 7 Fjell Bryggeri of Bergen, Norway.Lots of taste and very good for a store beer. Can’t help wondering how great it would be with more alcohol though…

Day 12:Not really the usual Saturday morning chez Higgs.Instead of a lazy lie-in, both Mari Anne and I went to the gym.Struggled through spinning and sweated it out in the sauna. Then to town for the Christmas market.Guests for dinner in the evening – all good fun.The Beer:Julefnug from Thisted Bryghus of Thisted, Denmark.Nice flavour but could have done with a bit more of a kick. Tasted less than its 5.8%.

Day 22:Last full shopping day before Christmas.Up quite late again but soon out to do the food shop.Got almost everything, booze included.Back home to relax a bit. Then it was time for the traditional Christmas film – Die Hard. The Beer:Ylir from Ægir Bryggeri of Flåm, Norway.Ægir deliver the goods once again with a very nice Christmas beer; another winner.

Day 21:Monday again.Am in Christmas mode now, so slept in until 1030.That was a little unexpected, to be honest…Then it was time for some shoppingWith that done, back home for one of the beers I picked up.The Beer:Schneeweisse from Erdinger Weissbrau of Erding, Germany. You can’t really go wrong with an Erdinger hefeweizen, and this Christmas edition is no exception – lovely.

Day 20:Ahh, the Sunday lie-in.An essential part of the week and we made the most of it.Up for breakfast then cleared up a bit.Started planning my home brewing kit…Off for an early Christmas dinner with friends – a great end to the weekend. The Beer:Jol from Amundsen Bryggeri of Oslo, Norway.I found this a little thin, but it has a good flavour that grows on you.

Day 19:We had major plans for this Saturday.Still had a relaxing start but then we were off to town.Did most of our Christmas food shop at the farmers’ market and Mathallen.Stopped for a coffee break then did a few more errands.Finished by picking up our Xmas tree and returning home…The Beer:Julebokk 2015 from Ringnes of Oslo, Norway. This was one of the best at the beer tasting earlier this month; even better as the first beer of the day, too.

Day 18:Rounded off the week with a good day.Signed the contract for the Florida Keys press trip in January.Need the flight tickets sorted before I am completely convinced it’s happening though.Wrote some blog posts and then did a big booze shop for Christmas.Picked up some beers too, including a possible beer 365 to finish the year. The Beer:Jule Avec from Berentsens Brygghus of Egersund, Norway.Excellent, flavoursome Xmas beer – one of the best in 2015.

Day 17:More productive today.Looks like the press trip in January is a go, so that’s great news.Started a hotel review post before breaking for a swim.Back to plan the Christmas food shop and complete the review.Dinner then relaxed in the evening. The Beer:Hod Julebrygg from Ægir Bryggeri of Flåm, Norway.Surprisingly light (in colour) and needed more of a punch, but still a good store Xmas beer.

Day 16. Worked on the blog and then off to the gym for a spin.Restocked with beer (oh, and food for the household) on way home.Began a hotel review and enjoyed this glass of Xmas cheer…The Beer:Jule Stenøl from Thisted Bryghus of Thisted, Denmark. This was very good; after a few store ales it’s definitely nice to have that high alcohol content in a Christmas beer.

Day 24:And it’s Christmas Eve – and the end of the Beer Advent Calendar already.Still have loads of Christmas beers to get through though. The homebrew is bubbling away nicely in the cellar by the way.Today’s tasks were basically to catch up on beer diary posts and clear up.With that done, we’re off for Christmas dinner with friends – Happy Christmas, Readers! The Beer:Underlig Jul from Nøgne Ø of Grimstad, Norway. An excellent one for Christmas Eve – lovely rich flavour.
