Photographer Heinrich Kuhn 1866 - 1944 processes of platinum, pigment, & gum-bichromate. 1906, experimented with the new Autochrome process, producing diffused color images on glass plates... 1908 he began moving away from pictorial imagery & making photogravures. 1921-1926 he had codified his thinking into a theory he termed "Syngraphie," which suggested that highlight and shadow areas be printed separately, in order to approximate normal visual experience.
