Sandnes Sparebank’s annual distribution of one million Norwegian kroner from its charitable gift fund had an interesting twist this year. According to the fund’s statutes, any group or association with a base in Sandnes can apply to the fund. All applicants had to register on a special website (takksandnes.no) and, by mobilising friends, members, mothers and neighbours, the team that got the most votes would receive an extra NOK 50,000 in the club’s account.
