"I just did my best to depict what I thought the film should look like, I really liked the idea. I didn't think the film would ever get made. My impression was it was too expensive. ROTJ: These images are from "The Art of Ralph McQuarrie". The first 3 images showed Vader escorting Luke from the shuttle all the way to the Palace Entrance. In these 3 images, Vader and Luke take an elevator down to the depths of the building, pass through a long ominous black corridor, and finally reach a subterranean room full of volcanic lava. Here Luke and Vader have to hop across a series of stepping stones, until they finally reach the Emperor's throne room.
