Kumla, or Potete Boller, or Norwegian Potato Dumplings -- usually a square of smoked ham or bacon was in the center served boiled w/potates (yes, more) AND Rutabagas and carrots w/a huge vat of melted butter and yes, use salt... oh my gad. Peasant food meant to be eaten like an Olympic Event was coming up and you need to boost your carbs. hahah. This doesn't look so nice w/nothing else on a blue plate, and one ball is actually frowning hahaha. but they are the best.
