St. Winefride's Well, Holywell, N. Wales. As the legend goes, St. Winefride was beheaded when she refused the advances of Prince Caradoc. Where her severed head struck the earth, a spring bubbled up. Winefride came back to life, miraculously, when her uncle, St. Beuno, set her head back upon her shoulders and prayed. This well has been known, over the centuries, for it's healing powers. It was once referred to as "The Lourdes of Wales."
