Scátthach, the Scottish Warrior Goddess: According to P.Monaghan Scátthach was an Irish Heroine who Lived on Island Made For Her; Isle of Skye in Scotland. She Taught Warriors but in order to get to her they had to pass the Bridge of the Cliff, an extremely challenging task (that even brought Cúchulann to brink as he performed his salmon leap to gain entry). ~Repinned Via Scáthach

Because of her creation of the stars, Varda was the dearest of the Valar to the elves, who called to her for aid from Middle-earth. The Valar are divine beings below a greater, more ultimate Creator, Ilúvatar. Thus some equate the Valar of Middle-earth with saints and angels; thus Varda, in her role as the most loved and prayed-to Vala, may be an equivalent of the Virgin Mary in Tolkien's own Catholic faith.

(Isis by El Grimlock on Deviant Art) Isis was the wife of Osiris. In one myth, Seth had a chest made to the exact measurements of Osiris and said that it would be given to anyone who could fit perfectly inside. Seth shut the lid with Osiris inside and sealed it with molten lead. He put it in the Nile, but Isis eventually recovered it. When Seth found it, he ripped Osiris to shreds and spread him across Egypt. Isis then buried each piece where she found it.
