this is a good design for a cover because it creates nice white space.Even though there is a lot of empty space not being used, this can be good. It increases the designs simplicity. It makes it less  busy. On this design,you clearly know where to look first, and it's focused on one specific design element.

At first glance, this design may appear unbalanced because of the big white space. However, in this case I think this negative space lets the viewer focus on the top of the image and adds simplicity that balances out the busy and colorful top.
