Sorrowful Angels by Antonio Canova 1819. Neoclassical sculptor, Antonio Canova, 1757-1822, born in Possagno, in the Provence of Treviso, in the Veneto. He's been one of my favorite sculptors since I first laid my eyes on his work in 1972.
Cupid and Psyche in the Louvre. #cupid #psyche "Now that he had tasted her while sober, he wanted her. It was overwhelming to be desired by such a tempting, sensual creature. She felt like Psyche being desired by Cupid. And she could not deny the attraction she felt for him, or the way she fluttered with longing when he kissed her." Ch17GI
